European Collective Mark
Τhe Union of Winemakers and Distillers of Tyrnavos acquired a European Collective Mark for the Products of Geographical Indication Tyrnavos.
The Union of Winemakers and Distillers of Tyrnavos, under the distinctive title Tyrnavos Wines & Spirits, was founded in Tyrnavos as a Non-Profit Civil Company in 2022. The Union consists of 13 Winemakers and Distillers of the Tyrnavos region, representing almost the entire production of Protected Geographical Indication Tyrnavos wines, as well as Tsipouro of Tyrnavos. The purpose of the Union is the promotion and protection of the region’s wines and spirits, the promotion of the local cultural heritage surrounding the vine, wine, and distillates, and their touristic development. The 13 enterprises participating in the Union are:

The newly established Union of Winemakers and Distillers of Tyrnavos registered a Collective Mark at the European Union Intellectual Property Office for PGI wines and the GI Tsipouro of Tyrnavos. This mark may appear on the labels and packaging of all products in these categories produced by the members of the Union and will be used to promote the Tyrnavos wine-growing region.
The establishment of the Union and the acquisition of the collective mark are pioneering actions for Greece, enhancing the outward-looking character of the Tyrnavos Vineyard and its products. Continuing in this direction, the Union will proceed with targeted actions for the development of viticulture, winemaking, and distillation in the region.
