Programme “Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards for the period 2017-2018”

The Agricultural Winery Cooperative of Tyrnavos shall inform its members, that they may submit their applications for the programme “Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards” from 1 March 2017 to 15 Mai 2017.

The programme refers exclusively to vines and provides for aid for the restructuring of the existing vineyards or the establishment of new ones (if planting authorisations are available) with the view to increasing the competitiveness of the wine-producing holding through qualitative staff development, cultivation of grape varieties of increased commercial interest, introduction of modern cultivation techniques and preservation and protection of the environment.

As stated at the Document Paper No 5048/114637/14-10-2016 of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, the planting rights granted from the National Reserve and the rights by transfer, after they have been converted into authorisations (according to the Ministerial Decision No 3535/96221/7-9-2015, OG. 1996, Issue Β’), may receive financial support only from the National Support Programme for the wine sector for the period 2014-2018, i.e. until the financial year 2018 (closing year for submitting applications 2017), irrespective of whether the period of validity of the authorisations extends beyond this date.

The replanting rights, after they have been converted into planting authorisations (according to the Ministerial Decision No 3535/96221/7-9-2015, OG. 1996, Issue Β’), may receive financial support within the framework of the Programme, for as long as the Programme remains applicable.

It should be noted, that the planting authorisations granted from 1 August 2016 (via the digital application) shall not receive financial support for any action of the Restructuring and Conversion of Vineyards” Programme.

According to Article 3 of the Joint Ministerial Decision No3714/110476/4-9-2014 (2443Β), the actions covered by the programme are the varietal conversion of the vineyards through relocation or grafting-on and the improvement of vineyard management techniques (staking), as long as they relate to the programme objectives. The renewal of vineyards which have come to the end of their natural life, i.e. the replanting of non-productive vineyards shall not be supported.

The minimum area per land parcel requested for the participation in the Programme shall be set up to 0,1 hectares. Winegrowers having been included in programmes during the last two periods of implementation (2015-16 & 2016-17) and vineyard parcels having received aid during the ten previous financial periods shall not be eligible. The new planting shall be maintained for a certain minimum period of eight years from the year of payment. It should be pointed out that sultana vineyards cannot be admitted to the programme and be converted into vineyards. Finally, it is made clear that the approval and the inclusion in that programme of the eligible applications and land shall follow the Ministerial Decision on the allocation of the available funds of the competent Ministry.
